Province US Ursuline Sisters challenge one another to be aware of the needs of those in our neighbourhoods and around the world less fortunate than we are. One sister works in Corporate Responsibility and raises issues to the whole community and encourages the sisters to write letters or emails to local, state and national representatives.
Sisters have been involved in seeking funding for New Ground, an organization begun by a sister in the U.S. Province that works on behalf of students, another sister on behalf of scholarships for students so that they can attend Catholic schools when parents can’t afford the tuition (Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation)
For work at the United Nations sisters encourage students in schools they are affiliated with to take part in the Ursuline Sisters’ sponsored Art Contest emphasizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Sisters are involved in Advocacy on behalf of the poor and marginalized by responding to the call for emails and letters through the New York Catholic Conference and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Religious Freedom and Opposition to Assisted Suicide are areas in the forefront at this time.
